Gen Con Indy 2008
Aug. 19th, 2008 04:20 pmI have just returned from Gen Con Indy where I presented on 8 panels and critiqued on one 4+ hour critique session. I met a lot of really cool folks there including people like Jean Rabe, John Helfers,
antonstrout, Paul Genesse, Pat Rothfuss and Luke Johnson. There were more people but I cannot remember them right now.
The Writer Symposium was a great success from my point of view. Even the critique session went well and I even had a new convention first - someone wanted a picture with me because of my RPG work with Margaret Weis Productions. I also got a couple of "drive-by" compliments as people walked by me but did not stop to talk.
In a career sense, the convention was pretty darned good. I have multiple pitches to give to new RPG companies who are interested in me working for them. I have a couple of manuscripts to send off to editors interested in them and I have several authors to email to see if they would like to write for The Edge of Propinquity.
The next convention I am going to is Conquest SF and is mostly a "for fun, playing and seeing old friends" convention. Though, I do have at least one meeting set up with an editor from Otherworld Creations to discuss future projects.

Date: 2008-08-20 12:17 pm (UTC)It was fun getting to meet you, and I'm really bummed we didn't have more time to chat.
I'm glad you had such a productive con, too!
So when are we going to pitch a jaguar-based RPG to one of these gaming companies?
