An Editor Even in My Dreams

While my husband built me my new desk (as the old one finally decided it had had enough of me after 7 years) I remembered a dream snippet. Normally I wouldn't post such but it amused me and included seanan_mcguire.

Seanan and I were walking down a Seattle street. I turned to her and said, "I know you're not late yet, but you're almost late on your TEoP story. I was wondering when you were going to get it in.

She shrugged, "I don't know. I'm kind of a demon now. Writing doesn't seem so important when you can eat the souls of mortal man." She gestured behind us to a scene of devastation.

I nodded as I looked at two desiccated corpses. "I understand but, do you think you could get me those last two stories on time? I'd like to finish out the year properly."

That's it. Not "Please don't eat me." Not "I have a list. You can start with these two." No, just "Demon or not, I still need your stories." Sometimes, I wonder about me.
