Sale: The Cost of Job Security

Second short fiction sale of the year. The Cost of Job Security goes to the Masters of Horror anthology by Triskaideka Books. This short story is dear because it is one of my many stories about something eating people. In this case, it's a mall. It is a short loosely inspired by Jeff and me getting locked in a mall in Indianapolis during GenCon 2008. It was a slightly unnerving and surreal experience.

Originally, I had offered to write the introduction for the anthology because I didn't have anything available to submit and I did not believe I had time to write something new. Then The Cost of Job Security came home to me. I turned it around and sent it to the anthology. A week later, I got the acceptance for the story and the rejection for writing the introduction.

That's the kind of rejection I can really smile at.

Lol! People being eaten is always a good thing in fiction. Congrats on the sale! :)
