TEoP Slush Pile Scorecard for 2009
75 total submissions
74 total submissions read.
64 total rejections.
04 total submissions kept for rereads ('maybe' reactions).
06 total "Yes!" responses.
01 submissions to go.
There were a couple of brilliant stories in this slush pile today. It made me very happy. Of course, there were a couple of stories that were in both the TEoP and Apex slush piles and at least one of those calls for submission say "no simultaneous submissions." Hmm. Something to think about when you are sending out your stories.

The Apex slush pile is a very different beast than the TEoP slush pile. There's a lot more of it and a lot more to both dislike and like about it. Plus, the acceptance process doesn't end with me. Just starts. The other editors get to look at my "kept for rereads" list.
