It's really not that hard

Maybe I'm just being picky but when you send me a submission and use my full name, I expect you to spell my last name correctly. It really isn't that hard. It is right there on the call for submissions guidelines page. Since you used my name, I must assume you know how to read. Just do me the favor of spelling my name properly. Is that too much to ask?

As someone who's been published (professionally even) with my name spelled wrong, I sympathize.

But it started long ago -- I was one of the Copy Editors on the high school paper, and no matter how clearly we put my name correctly on the copy, and corrected the proofs, it still came out wrong, right after the title "Copy Editor", in the printed paper. Talk about embarrassing!

It's probably what I get for having a Gaelic name that breaks English spelling rules.

I hear you. A huge number of the web sites out there selling one or more of the books I've worked on have my last name misspelled, even though it's A) printed on the cover of most of said books, and B) not hard to spell. (Amazon only has it right on Agents of Artifice because we pestered them about it.)

And, at least in part, it's because WotC has occasionally released book info to said vendors with my name spelled wrong, even though I've been working with them in some capacity or other since 2004. :-/
